Our services
for Eastern Europe
Doing business in Central and Eastern Europe has changed considerably as a result
of recent political developments. The creation of new states has also given
rise to new official languages. Its no longer acceptable to use a Yugoslavian
translation for the different parts of former Yugoslavia. The same is true for
the former Soviet republics, which are now all independent and speak and write
their own languages.
Vertaalbureau Bothof knows exactly which language to use to speak to your customers
in Kiev, Prague, Ljubljana, Kaliningrad, Tallinn or any other city in Eastern
Europe. Thanks in part to our take-over of the Slavic and Eastern European
Translation and Information Bureau (known as SOVI for short) we have access
to an extensive network of translators and revisors in this part of Europe.
Naturally, they also work on the mother tongue principle.
As you are probably aware, many Eastern European languages use symbols that we dont have in our alphabet. Vertaalbureau Bothof has all the fonts needed to process every European and Eastern European language, including the Slavic languages, in Word, QuarkXPress and Illustrator (PC and Macintosh).
These other symbols often cause people trouble when reading documents into
their computer, possibly because the standard PC settings do not allow multiple-language
support.
